Mission Statement
Disney II will:
 
• Provide a textured, challenging curriculum in literacy , mathematics, social studies, and science in order to prepare students for educational success in high school and college;
 
• Utilize thematic interdisciplinary units, and project-based learning, to demonstrate the relevance and applicability of knowledge;
 
• Integrate arts and technology to provide opportunities for students to discover the connectedness of concepts and knowledge, to inspire creativity, and to allow for acceleration and remediation of learning process;
 
• Differentiate instruction to address all students’ needs, including English Language Learners, students with advanced skills, and special needs students in an inclusive environment;
 
• Focus on the whole child by supporting students’ social, emotional, physical, and ethical growth;
 
• Cultivate a disciplined program that demands mutual respect and champions and rewards good manners and inclusiveness;
 
• Build strong connections between home and school to encourage parental support and harness the power of the school community;
 
• Develop and sustain reciprocal partnerships with community organizations and businesses to leverage assets and engage the community in all aspects of the school;
 
• Create a professional learning community through collaboration, meaningful professional development, and a commitment to lifelong learning, leadership and innovation;
 
• Create and actively maintain an attractive, clean, and inspiring physical space for learning where student work is proudly displayed;
 
• Model the Disney maxim: “Learning is fun!
